In the age of drive through restaurants, coffee shops, donut bakeries and ice cream parlors, it is tough to choose healthy snacks when convenience often outweighs common sense. I can't lie - I often catch myself reaching for the corn chips and cheese dip when I'm looking for something to munch on. The struggle is real!

Good morning! It's been awhile since I've shown you an updated fitness routine. Since I was having some health issues for the majority of July, I took some time off and when I did work out, it was very gentle yoga routines. I decided to continue with yoga-based workouts for the month of August as well, to allow my body to be able to ease back into the program. I'm still focusing on the 2x schedule I discussed in my June fitness routines and am doing faster routines for the cardio days and adding a little more strenuous flows for the toning days. So let's jump into my August workout.

The summer has FLOWN by and, although we have a few weeks left in August, many of you will preparing your children for the new school year. From back to school clothes shopping, to stacks of new school supplies, to the smell of a freshly-packed lunchbox, I have always loved this time of year. Many of you know that I am crazy for office supplies and can spend a whole lot of time and money in the pen and notebook aisles at our local office supply store.

Good morning! We've made it to yet another Tuesday and we are in the month of August, which means I'm switching up my workout routines. I've been feeling a little down lately because my health has not been as great as I'd hope. I'm having more trouble with my medication, so I've had to tone down my workouts for this month. I'm primarily focusing on yoga and stretching since these types of workouts are gentle on my joints and don't require a whole lot of energy.
For those of you who are new, this is the music I have on my iPod for my yoga routines. Where the cardio list was quite varied with many genres of music featured, the yoga list for this month is more slow-paced ballad or poetical music. I've also not broken this playlist into warm up, workout and cool down, since yoga is one complete flow.

This week marked five months until Christmas day. Five months! I can't even believe how fast this year has flown by. I am not, by any means, ready for the holiday season, but thanks to an abundance of Christmas in July ideas floating around the blogosphere, I can start my planning for decorations, food and even gifts way ahead of time. These are all my favorite Christmas ideas using summer-appropriate supplies. Enjoy!
