Bleeding Heart Earrings Tutorial - A Thirty Minute Project

Bleeding Heart Earrings Tutorial | A Thirty Minute Project - A Simpler Grace

Anyone who has tried making jewelry knows how time intensive the process can be.  Today, I'm here to share actually how easy it is to do a quick project that requires minimal bead stranding and design. Today's tutorial is about what I call the Bleeding Heart earrings.

The supplies you'll need are:

  • Heart-shaped chandelier earring findings (The specific ones I used are not sold online, but you might be able to find them at your local Michaels craft store.)  The heart shape is optional.
  • 10-15 6mm open/split jump rings (in a metal that matches your chandelier findings)
  • 10-15 painted pearl chips (pictured above) or flat bead with hole drilled from front to back
  • jewelry pliers
  • 2 earring wires (The chandelier findings I purchased came with the earring wires already attached.  You will need to purchase them separately if your's do not have them.
The first thing you want to do is layout your design on a craft mat or jewelry tray.  I found that if you use an odd number of beads/jump rings on each earring, you get the "drop" affect rather than having them "square off" at the bottom.

Once you have your design down, open your jump rings.  If this is a new concept for you, see the video tutorial here.  When you have your jump rings open, slip your beads on each.

Now you are going to want to put the jump rings through the loops on your chandelier findings.  It is very important that you put them on in the correct direction.  You want the more decorative side of your bead facing the front of the earring.  This is particularly important if your chandelier findings come with the earring wires attached.

If you need to attach your earring wires to your chandelier, simply open the loop or jump ring on your earring wire and slip it through the very top loop on your chandelier.  Close the loop or ring.

Ta Dah!  You have a new pair of earrings!!

So, how'd they come out?  I'd love to see your finished product or any other jewelry project you've been working on lately.  Just upload a picture on social media and don't forget to tag me!
