One of the best things about the holiday season is advent calendars and although this book isn't a calendar, the principle of opening it every day until Christmas is the same.
Many holiday devotionals and other books take a more fairy tale approach to the Christmas story, but Asheritah wrote this book in more detail. Not only does she provide the daily scripture passages and prayer prompts, but she also guides you on the raw path Jesus took when he was a man who walked this earth. He was not a character in a book, but a real person who lived and died for every one of his children.
This devotional is structured around the four weeks of advent: hope, preparation, joy and love. Each week, there is an advent celebration followed by individual devotions based on the names of Jesus. There are tons of scriptures to reference, prayer prompts, and challenges for you and your family.
Speaking of family, this is a family friendly book, including your children in the weekly celebrations and giving them thoughts to reflect on throughout the week.
This advent devotional has been such a blessing to me and I can't wait to pull it back out and read study through it when the advent season starts in a few days!
Have you ever read through an advent devotional? If so, what did you enjoy the most about it?
