Monthly Reflections | March

What I'm up to currently on the blog and in life.

Hi, friends.  So, how is March over already?

True to the old adage, March did come in like a lion and go out like a lamb.  We started the month with snow and we are ending with spring temperatures and cherry blossoms.  It's been a beautiful month and I can only hope that April is more of the same.

The 30 Day Minimalism Project

A look back at the last thirty days and the tasks that led me to a minimalist life.

Today, I completed something big and that is the 30 Days of Minimalism project.  This is something that has been on my to-do list for such a long time and when I sat down at the end of last month, I really wanted to get started on tackling it.  I made it a goal for the month of March and this is one goal checked off!

Simple Gratitude | 22

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude.

Good morning.  I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend and your week is off to a great start.

This weekend was a bittersweet one for me, but I got to spend a lot of time with my family and that is worth more than gold.  I am so thankful we all live pretty close to each other again and can gather for holidays and enjoy each other's company.

Lately on Instagram | March

A monthly recap of what I've been up to on Instagram.

Happy Easter!  It's nearing the end of the month and I thought it would be fun to recap what I've been up to on Instagram and share some of my favorite images from the last few weeks.

A Day in the Life | Spring 2016

People always ask me what I do during the day and are surprised when I tell them.  There is a common misconception that "full-time bloggers" sit on the couch eating bonbons all day and maybe write an hour or two when they are inspired (aka "fired up") about something.  This couldn't be farther from the truth.  A fun way to dispell this rumor is to share a peek at my typical work day and what it entails.  So, come along with me for a day in my life.

My favorite reads from the week!

Happy Good Friday.  I hope you all have a blessed Easter weekend with your family and friends. Tomorrow, I'll be sharing a fun day-in-the-life post and giving you a peek at what goes on behind the scenes before a big family holiday.  We're doing lots of prep work and dying eggs, as well as other fun stuff, so watch for it.

If I Could Do My Wedding Over...

The things I'd change if I had the opportunity to do my wedding over.

Many brides often ask themselves down the road, years after their nuptials, what they'd do differently if they could re-do their wedding.  With bridal season fast approaching and the handful of women that I know personally who will be walking down the aisle this year, I thought I'd look back at my wedding and share some of the things I'd change.

Simple Gratitude | 21

A selection of the things I'm grateful for this week!

Hello, Monday!

You know when you can just sense it's going to be a good week?  Well, this week is going to be one of those good weeks.  I've got lots on my to-do list to prep for Easter, including dying eggs with my niece, planning the final touches for our family dinner and making a new recipe for tsoureki, which is a Greek Easter bread.

Earlier this week, I shared some tips on curating a capsule wardrobe and mentioned that I'd be back with some fitness gear to add to your closet.  In today's post, I'm going to share my workout necessities that I use every day to stay on track with my fitness goals.

A recap of my favorite reads from the week!

Hey, friends!  It's Friday and it's been a busy, yet quiet week around here at ASG.  I'm sort of in the middle of several projects that need to be finished up this weekend, so I'm going to jump right in!

Curating a Capsule Wardrobe

I'm breaking down the essentials for the real woman's closet

Maybe you want to simplify your closet.  Maybe you want to make it easier to get ready in the morning.  Maybe you don't have a huge budget for clothing and want to make the pieces you do purchase count.  These are just a few of the reasons women are opting for a capsule wardrobe over the walk-in closet packed to the brim.

A recap of my weekly gratitude!

So, we're back to the cold, rainy weather true to the tail-end of winter and I'm not liking it after the tease into the 70's and 80's last week.  I was just getting in the mood for spring cleaning, pulling the warm weather clothing from the back of the closets and opening the windows to let in some fresh air, but these things will have to wait for a bit longer.

A glance at all my favorite reads from across the web this week!

Good morning, friends.  I hate to see the week end.  It's been so lovely outside and as I'm writing this, the wind has just picked up, carrying in a cold front.  Guess we are back to true spring weather again. Oh well, Easter will be here in a few weeks and all our daffodils and tullips and irises will be blooming with the full beauty and color of the season.  I'll be sure to share some photos of it all on Instagram, so stay tuned!

Bad Days Call for Ice Cream and Coloring Books #Adulting

This isn't a review or sponsored post.  I just wanted to take some time to remind you to act like a kid again and do something creative today.  #Adulting

Yesterday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  I rolled out of bed on the wrong foot and it just got worse from there.  By the end of the night, I had two choices:  drown myself in a bottle of wine - which would not be a good idea when I had to be up this morning at 6:00 a.m. with my niece - or revert to my five-year-old self again.  I chose option B.

Giving Yourself Grace in Weight Loss

Finding grace in being realistic and sticking to your health goals

If you've ever been on a diet or following an exercise plan, you know how awful it feels when you miss a day in the gym or fall off the wagon and enjoy one-too-many cheat meals.  You might feel like a failure.  You might feel like all the work you've put in up to that point was for nothing.  Today, I hope to offer a little encouragement to you.

My weekly gratitude round up!

Good Monday to ya!  Spring is IN. THE. AIR!  We are expecting temps in the mid 70's this week and there is no one more excited about that than me.  It's going to be a busy week, so I'm jumping right in to today's post.  I hope you have a great day, friends!

(In a sing-songy voice) It's Fri-day, it's Fri-day. Woot Woot!  My niece learned that from her teacher and she always sings it when I wake her up on the last day of the week.  She gets very excited about Fridays because she can look forward to a few days off AND it's pizza day in the cafeteria. Pizza FTW!

In Love on Instagram | Winter 2016

I wrote a post like this last November and apparently, you guys really enjoyed finding some new Instagram accounts to follow.  So much so, that you asked for another one.  This season, I'm featuring some IGers that I've been following for quite some time.  Their feeds boast some stunning images and their use of natural light is spot on.  There is a photographer who shares pictures that are absolutely magical and a few life/style bloggers with lovely curated photos mixed with real life moments.  These are my winter 2016 Instagram favorites.

Hello March | Goals

You guys know I'm a big fan of checklists and, well, any lists in general, so I thought it'd be fun to start posting my monthly goals for both blogging and my personal life, here on the blog.  In every future post, I'll also share a recap of the previous month's goals, which ones I accomplished and which ones I need to try harder on.  I think this will help me stay accountable for the targets I set for myself.
