Monthly Reflections | April

Monthly Reflections | April - A Simpler Grace - What I'm currently up to in life and on the blog.

Boy, April went by in a flash, didn't it?  I can't believe we are at the end of the month already, but indeed, here we are.

Leo Tolstoy wrote in Anna Karenina, "Spring is the time of plans and projects" and that's exactly what I've been focusing on.  There are some fun things planned in the coming month. Some new projects, new opportunities, and new adventures, so stay tuned for good things to come!

Easy DIY Beaded Wire Bangle Bracelets | A Jewelry Tutorial

A fun and easy DIY jewelry project - Easy DIY Beaded Wire Bangle Bracelets

Fun fact about me that you might not have known:  I used to design jewelry.  I say "used to" because I've recently decided to let this hat fall for the foreseeable future as I focus on some of my other creative pursuits, but in the meantime, I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite pieces with you and give a tutorial for a few of them.

Today, I'm sharing a super-simple project and something that is so easy to customize and make exactly how you like it - a DIY beaded wire bangle bracelet.

Simple Gratitude | 26

One thing is for certain - the days and weeks are starting to fly by, as they typically do once the weather gets warmer and I get busier.  Where is that darn pause button?

I am bound and determined to enjoy this spring and summer as much as I can.  Last year, I had a lot of nonsense and stress on my plate but this year, I will be taking a day at a time and trying to live in the moment more... starting right now!

My Sweet Sponsors | April 2016

My Sweet Sponsors | April 2016 - A Simpler Grace - A closer look at the special people who kept ASG running this month.

We are quickly nearing the end of April (already!!) and I wanted to take a moment to introduce some very important people to you before the rest of this month slipped by.

One of the best things about running this little blog is getting a chance to meet and work with other bloggers and supporting each other.  I am so very grateful for those special people who put their time, effort and resources into backing A Simpler Grace.  They not only keep the lights on around here but they also have given me something that is so much more important and that is the friendship and community that I adore in this blogging community.

Simple Gratitude | 25

Simple Gratitude | 25 - A Simpler Grace - A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude.

Happy Monday!

The gorgeous weekend we were blessed with was definitely needed after a long and stressful week.  I spent some time outdoors with my niece and nephew and a lot of time working around the house and lounging in bed (with the windows open) and catching up on some reading.  The next few weeks hold some big changes for me and I'm hoping everything goes off smoothly.  More on that in the near future.

Why, hello there!  So, I guess it's been a couple weeks since I've done one of these posts.  With the Easter holiday and the impossible illnesses that have been circulating in these neck o' the woods, I just didn't do much surfing of the interwebs.  I did, however, catch up and am featuring the best of the best right here, right now.

Farmhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies | With Country Crock

Farmhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies | With Country Crock - A Simpler Grace - My thoughts after using Country Crock spread in a chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I received a product featured in this post for free, courtesy of Influenster and Shedd's Spread Country Crock.  I was not cash compensated or required to give a positive review.  As always, all opinions are my own.  For more info on these types of posts, please visit the Terms of Use tab above. #MakeItYours

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, right?  They are one of my favorites, so I was very excited to be chosen to work on this campaign featuring Country Crock's Make It Yours cookie recipe.  The idea behind the #MakeItYours tag is a basic cookie recipe and you add your own mix-ins.  These can be anything you want from chocolate chips and marshmallows to bacon with a maple glaze.  You can make the cookies your own by adding ingredients to suit your taste.

Five Tips to Take Better Photos With Your iPhone

Five Tips to Take Better Photos With Your iPhone - A Simpler Grace - My five tips for how you can take the best pictures using your iphone.

We've all seen the Instagram photography accounts that have "all photos taken with my iPhone" in the profile.  Surely, those pictures can't be taken with a smart phone... Can they?  The images are crisp and so vibrant that they look like they could have only come from a thousand dollar DSLR, but in truth, the built-in iPhone camera is capable of quality photographs - if you know how to use it.

Praying for Emmaus

Praying for Emmaus - A Simpler Grace - Checking off #13 on my 101 in 1001 list by praying for the Walk to Emmaus weekend.

One of the goals I had set for myself when I started the Day Zero Project was to volunteer for a Chrysalis, Emmaus, or Credo weekend that was taking place in my local region.  Well, this weekend, I get to check this goal off.

Simple Gratitude | 24

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude.

Good morning, friends.  After a little hiatus away from the blog last week to allow myself to return to health after not one, but two episodes of a very nasty bug going around, I'm back to start off the week with the things I'm grateful for.

Simple Gratitude | 23

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude.

Good morning and happy Monday.

The past week has been stuffed with one stressful thing after another.  I shared in last week's post that my grandmother passed.  Her memorial service was Thursday.  We wake up on Friday morning and learn that her granddaughter (the woman who was raised with my ex-husband and like a sister to him) passed away unexpectedly.  This was clearly more than my body was ready to handle and I ended up paying the local emergency room a visit on Saturday night.  One thing I keep reminding myself is that God allows us to go through these difficult times so we lean closer to and rely on Him.  When it feels like life's too much for one person (or in this case, one family) to handle, only He can see us through.

April is Donate Life Month!

Each April, I share the story of my beloved brother and our family's dedication to raising awareness to the need for more organ, eye and tissue donors.

Each April, I share the story of my beloved brother and our family's dedication to raising awareness to the need for more organ, eye and tissue donors.  This post is from the archives.

April is National Donate Life Month.  It is a time to raise awareness for the need for organ, eye and tissue donation.  It's a touchy subject and I understand a lot are uncomfortable with the idea giving donations after their lives have ended.  I would like to share with you why I am posting this today and how dear of a subject it is to my family.

Hello April | Goals

Well, hello there, April.  And hi, friends!  Can you believe that we are through the month of March already?  I certainly cannot, but I'm excited for a fresh start that comes with a new month.  Also, it's Donate Life Month, but more on that tomorrow.  Today, we're talking goals.
