June has been a hard month all around. I've heard it from everyone how the past several weeks have been full of trials and struggle and pain and I am hoping and praying that July will bring positive change for everyone.

Simple Gratitude | 35

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude. #gratefulheart #gratitude #feelingthankful - Simple Gratitude | 35 - A Simpler Grace

Friends, it's been a tough week. My state is suffering from one of the largest natural disasters in a really long time with the flooding that swept through the lower part of West Virginia, devastating Greenbrier County and surrounding areas. At least twenty-four people are dead, with many more still missing and the chaos that is ensuing from over thirty-thousand power outages, roads having been completely washed away and the lack of food, water and supplies all hindering continued search and rescue efforts. My brother is down there and while we have heard from him and he is safe, it is heart-breaking to think how many others won't get that call from their loved ones.

A post featuring my favorite reads from the week. #linkstolove #fridayfavorites - Links to Love | 61 - A Simpler Grace

There are a lot of interesting articles floating around the interwebs lately and I managed to get my hands on a few of them. I plan on reading a lot more this weekend, as well as getting in some time by the pool and taking my camera out for a walk or two. What are your plans for the weekend?

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 1

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 1 - A Simpler Grace - A conversation over coffee #coffeedates

If you and I had coffee today...

We'd meet up at this great little Italian cafe just outside the city. We would order espresso and maybe a slice of crostata after lingering a bit too long at the pastry counter. We would find a little table by the window so we could look out onto the street and watch the passers-by.

Simple Gratitude | 34 - A Simpler Grace - A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude. #gratefulheart #gratitude #feelingthankful

Good morning!

Well, it's been a whole week since I've been on the blog and I spent the time away working on some projects and tying up some loose ends. I had a great weekend spent with family and friends, celebrating my father and cooking out and swimming and it was so relaxing, but I'm glad to be back in the groove of things and happy to start off this Monday with open windows and a cup of tea.

Simple Gratitude | 33 #MoreLoveLessHate

Simple Gratitude | 33 #MoreLoveLessHate - My thoughts on the Pulse Nightclub tragedy.

A little over twenty-four hours ago, over a hundred people were gunned down in a nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Some are alive, but many are not. I wanted to dedicate this post to the lives lost, the lives hurt and the lives forever changed because of this senseless act of hate and terror.

Happy grateful heart Monday, friends!

It was a relatively quiet weekend without much going on, so I was able to get lots of work done and that is always a plus. I'm working on getting some loose ends on a few projects finished up this week then I'll officially be ready to start my summer!

Good morning, Friday friends! We are expecting rain and thunderstorms all weekend long.  I really don't think we've had two sunny weekends since the middle of March, but I can't complain.  I have a lot on my to-do list and it will surely keep me busy until the sun returns and I can get back to enjoying the pool on Monday. What are your weekend plans?

Hello June | Goals

A monthly series tracking the goals I've set both in my personal and blogging life. Hello June | Goals - A Simpler Grace

So, I read an article recently that talked about how June is the official fresh-start month. In other words, for those people who haven't done so well on their new year's goals or resolutions, they can start over again in June and get another shot in the second half of the year. I am officially claiming this idea as my own and doing it this month! Here we go.
