Simple Gratitude | 50

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude. #gratefulheart #gratitude #feelingthankful - Simple Gratitude | 50 - A Simpler Grace

Happy Halloween!

It's the last day of the month and I'm sad to see October leaving but excited to start a new month. November is my favorite month of the year. It's when the weather finally turns cold here in the mid-east, it's my birthday month, and there is always Thanksgiving and lots of time with family and friends. It's also the beginning of the 30 Days of Gratitude and the start of National Novel Writing Month. It's going to be a busy one!

Monthly Reflections | October

What I'm currently up to in life and on the blog. #currently #takingstock #monthlyreflections - Monthly Reflections | October - A Simpler Grace

Where did the month of October go? Strike that. Better question, where did the year go?? I am frantically looking for the pause button and trying to slow the last few months of 2016 down, but it doesn't seem to be working.

#Collaboreads | A Book with "Fall" in the Title

A bookish linkup with friends - #Collaboreads | A Book with "Fall" in the Title - A Simpler Grace

Hi, friends! After months of planning to join in on the #Collaboreads linkup with Amber and Rachel and not being able to swing it in my editorial calendar, I am finally participating! It's a great month to do so because this month's prompt is to choose a book with "fall" in the title. I actually pulled several books (five, to be exact) that fit the bill, but when all was said and done, only one made the cut.

"I  want every day to be a fresh start on expanding what is possible."  - Oprah Winfrey

Oh Monday, we meet again. At the beginning of every new week, I always feel both excited and a little resentful. Excited, for the feeling of a slate wiped clean and a chance to be better than I was yesterday, but resentful because I wish the weekend had lasted just a little longer, so I could enjoy the sunshine and family time and relaxation a fraction more.

5 Things To Do When You Aren't Feeling Inspired

5 Things To Do When You Aren't Feeling Inspired - A Simpler Grace

Confession. There are days when I can sit down at my laptop to write a post or pick up my phone to share a photo on Instagram and I am feeling so inspired, the words just flow out of me, almost like they are burning and the steam must escape me in the quickest way possible. And there are some days, they don't. Sometimes, the inspiration just isn't there. The good ideas have dried up and the barren desert of creative emptiness is all that looms.

Simple Gratitude | 48

Sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog today - Simple Gratitude | 48 - A Simpler Grace #gratitude #feelingthankful

"Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." - Karl A. Menninger

Good Monday morning to ya! I hope you were able to enjoy a gorgeous fall weekend like I was. We had absolutely perfect weather. It was cool and breezy and the leaves are FINALLY starting to change color. I looked back to last fall and we were already in full color by the first week of October and this year, we are just barely starting to see some golds and crimsons peeking from the treetops. A bit slow this year, but I plan on taking some photos once the change is more visible.

Apple Brown Betty

An autumn dessert with warm apples, cinnamon and hearty oats served with ice cream - Apple Brown Betty - A Simpler Grace

Tis' the season for warm, hearty desserts and today, I'm sharing a recipe I recently made for my family that was a sure hit. Fall is the perfect time to do some baking using seasonal fruits, warm spices, and lots of other comforting ingredients. Today, it's all about apples, cinnamon, and oats.

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 5

A conversation over coffee #coffeedates - If You and I Had Coffee | vol 5 - A Simpler Grace

If  you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at the little organic farm stand down a winding country road, far away from the city. The place always bustles with activity in the fall with people picking out pumpkins and chrysanthemums or grabbing freshly made jars of apple butter. We'd sit at a picnic table right outside the stand and sip hot apple cider from paper cups and marvel at the beautiful day.

James 1:2-8 | Bible Journaling

James 1:2-8 | Bible Journaling - A Simpler Grace #illustratedfaith

Hello and good morning! So, if you follow the blog regularly or if you read my monthly goals posts, you'll remember that I haven't been the best about keeping up with my Bible journaling goal. In order to help myself accomplish this task, I decided to add a few journaling posts to my editorial calendar for the month.

Simple Gratitude | 47

A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude. #gratefulheart #gratitude #feelingthankful - Simple Gratitude | 47 - A Simpler Grace

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope this morning's post finds you well and those of you who were in the path of Hurricane Matthew are safe and sound.

This morning I wanted to share with you, two little bits that have been encouraging me lately. Sometimes, it seems like the obstacles that fall in our path are too large for us to conquer. Heck, Mondays can sometimes feel like that, and when you have this feeling, all else seems impossible. I hope you find encouragement in these and you start your week off on the right foot.

Simple Gratitude | 46

 A weekly series focusing on practicing gratitude. #gratefulheart #gratitude #feelingthankful - Simple Gratitude | 46 - A Simpler Grace

Hi, friends! It's the first Monday of October and I'm back on my normal blogging schedule again. I'm so glad to be able to jump in every week with my gratitude posts and truly missed the few weeks I shared other posts for blog-tember.

It was a good week with a few lows but lots of highs and I got to spend the weekend with the people I love, so you can't beat that!

Hello October | Goals

A monthly series tracking the goals I've set both in my personal and blogging life. - Hello October | Goals - A Simpler Grace

September flew by because I was so busy blogging and it's hard to believe we are already talking about goals again. This was not a good month for my to-do list. I really thought I'd have more time to do these things but I was preoccupied with blog-tember. It's a new month and I have a fresh, clean slate so I hope to do better in October!
