Monthly Reflections | February

What I'm currently up to in life and on the blog. #currently #takingstock #monthlyreflections

I don't know about you but February felt like it both flew by and was the longest month on record, all at the same time. I say this because I spent most of the month in bed, sleeping away the flu and while the illness never seemed to end, it feels like yesterday when I wrote my last reflections post. Nevertheless, here we are.

Simple Gratitude | 65

Sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog this morning! #gratitude #feelingthankful

It's been a little quiet around here because I was down for a solid week with the flu, but I finally started feeling more like myself this weekend. I am so glad to be back. The germs are brutal this year and I wouldn't wish them on an enemy. How have you all been the last week?

100 Things I'd Rather Hold Than My Phone

A list of 100 things I'd rather hold than my phone #asimplergrace

I have a confession to make. I'm addicted to my phone. Like many others of this generation, I am unable to set my phone down and focus on more important things for a span of time greater than ten minutes. Last weekend, I had intended to unplug from all technology and enjoy a weekend away. I even announced it on my social media channels to let everyone know they shouldn't expect an immediate response, should they contact me. I responded to notifications fifteen minutes later.

Simple Gratitude | 64

I'm sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog today! Simple Gratitude | 64 - A Simpler Grace #gratitude

Hey, friends. I've literally been in bed since Saturday with flu-like symptoms, so I'm going to keep this short and to the point. I had planned to unplug and enjoy a weekend away, but sometimes life throws us curveballs and that's exactly what it did.

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 9

A conversation over coffee #coffeedates If You and I Had Coffee | vol 9 - A Simpler Grace

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up one evening at the local dimly-lit coffee house for their weekly open mic night. I'd order a coffee with a shot of bourbon and we'd pull two bar stools up to a table off the side of the stage - close enough to listen but far enough away that we can still hear each other speak. We'd sip our drinks out of mason jar mugs and get caught up in the woman on stage who was reciting a poetic monologue about broken hearts.

Sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog. What are you feeling grateful for? #gratitude

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all the others." - Marcus Tullius Cicero

Good morning... or afternoon for those of you who are feeling a little rough after your football parties last night. I'll keep the volume down so as not to agitate your headache. :)

Hello February | Goals

Taking a look at the goals I've set both in my personal and blogging life #goals #goalsetting - Hello February | Goals - A Simpler Grace

Can anyone believe we are in February already? So I learned a random fact about the month of February... Apparently, the day after Valentine's Day, gym memberships drop to their lowest rate all year and fast food consumption skyrockets. I guess between burning themselves out the month before and being depressed from the dreariness of winter (and maybe being single on the Hallmark holiday) we all take a nosedive on our goals. Well, stay strong, friends! It's a short month and spring is just around the corner!
