Philippians 4:6-7 | Bible Journaling

Philippians 4:6-7 | Bible Journaling - A Simpler Grace #illustratedfaith #biblejournaling #shereadstruth

Happy hump day, friends. It's been awhile (around Easter) since I shared a recent Bible journaling entry, so I thought I'd take advantage of the day and share one. For the last week, my anxiety has been kicking in hardcore and I have been struggling to find relief from it. May also happens to be Mental Health Awareness Month (more on this in tomorrow's letter) so this passage is even more fitting. If you struggle with anxiety like I do, these should be your go-to verses to find peace.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)

I kept this process pretty simple. I've been loving the peonies that are blooming in the garden out front and wanted to draw some on this page. I also kept the lettering pretty clean. I used a couple of Papermate Flair pens and my Fantasia colored pencils. I haven't really been in the mood to pull out my paints lately but might do some watercolor peonies soon. It's been so long since I've done legit handlettering, so I'm a bit out of practice. When I was in junior high and high school, I used to do calligraphy as a hobby (before it was trendy) and I was so good at it, people used to ask me to handletter their graduation and junior/senior banquet (our version of prom) invitations. I loved it so much but as life went on, I lost interest. I should make a point to practice more.

I hope you enjoyed taking another little peek into my journaling Bible. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for more on Mental Health Awareness Month and to read my letter for the month of May.

Do you do Bible journaling? What are your favorite supplies to use on your pages?

I do not, but I love seeing what other people do because the pages are so pretty. I'm always curious about the products that everyone uses as well. Definitely a nice passage for those with anxiety! :)
