Simple Gratitude | 87

Today I'm sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog #gratitude #feelingthankful

"Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work." - Stephen King

Happy Monday. I'm actually feeling excited to jump into this week. I have a lot to do but I'm motivated and can't wait to get some tasks marked off my list. But first, I'd love to know, what is one highlight from your week that you are grateful for?

This week, I'm grateful for:
  • Productivity. For the first time in forever, I checked off every single item that was on my to-do list for this week. I've been working on some new routines that involve breaking my day up into four-hour increments so I can incorporate my constant need to rest while I'm wading through this latest medicine fluctuation. The new method seems to be working well and I don't have to feel disappointed if I fall asleep in the middle of the day and lose time that would have been spent on completing work.
  • A cool weekend. The weather around here has been lovely. It's been so cool, considering we are in the middle of August, and I am getting pumped for autumn. The only thing that disappoints me about the lower temps is that I think those poolside days are behind me. The forecast shows a pattern of cooler weather and I think that means the pool will be getting drained pretty soon. Didn't get as much time in the water as I would have liked, but jeans a boot weather is on its way, so that's a win!
  • The West Wing Weekly. Anyone who has been around the blog for any length of time (or knows me personally) knows how obsessed I am with the tv show The West Wing. Last week, I discovered a podcast about how the show was made and I am so in love.
  • Good shampoo. I am the type of person who has to bounce back and forth between various brands of hair products because my hair gets bored easily. For the last few months, my hair has been throwing a major temper tantrum and after switching to a new shampoo last week, I feel like a new woman.
  • Nightly journaling. I flip flop when it comes to journaling but this week I started going through a workbook I got from my old therapist. It has daily journaling prompts and it's helped my anxiety a great deal. I've also found that my creativity is boosted when I journal. Perhaps because I'm writing more but I think it might also be because I'm clearing some of the junk that's been cluttering my head the last few months.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Kudos to you on the productivity! That is something I need major work on. My knat like attention span lately has not been very helpful in this. We had some cooler weather is weekend as well and it was almost too cold for me. But no complaints. We needed a cool down for sure! I need to get back to solid Journaling. I can't keep myself interested lately. So much focus needs to be happening. Happy Monday!

  2. I hope you are able to find some focus this week! I struggle with a short attention span too sometimes, but I try to take advantage of those moments when I can reign it in. Have a great week, Trish!

  5. I'm glad you found a shampoo you love, that is tough to do sometimes! And we had cool weather this weekend too and I loved it!

  6. It is difficult to find a good shampoo. I'm so sensitive to fragrances and a lot of chemicals that it's never easy tracking down a brand that agrees with me. Hope you have a great week, Beth! :)

  7. Doesn't it feel so good to cross things off your todo list? I swear productivity just always feels so good for me too and often makes it into my night gratitude journal.

  9. It feels wonderful to check things off of your to do list! I go back and forth with nightly journal writing myself but it does help to clear out your mind before bed.

  10. I'm glad journaling as being working well for you! I've had some pretty cool weather too. I DO hope we get a bit warmer weather because I want to swim some too, but I do love the fall. ;)

  11. It's such a good feeling. Journaling is a habit I'd like to try to establish again. It does help clear my mind too.

  12. It would be nice to have some more time to swim, but it doesn't look likely in my area. :)

  13. We are starting to see a bit cooler temperatures here and fall is not far from us, sadly. Our summers are never long enough here before the cold creeps back in.
The biggest thing I'm grateful for this week is all the family time I've had. I truly love and cherish that.
Have a great week hun. Xo

  15. I'm excited about the cooler weather. Our summer seemed shorter than usual but we also had a really warm winter and the bugs have been HORRIBLE. Definitely ready for fall. :)
