Simple Gratitude | 106

I'm sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog. What are you grateful for today? #gratitude #feelingthankful

It's one of those two-cup mornings for me. How about you? I don't know if it's the bitter chill outside or the approaching winter storm, but I want nothing more than to curl up under the covers for a bit longer. Alas, there is work to be done. Hope you have a fantastic Monday and find a few things to be grateful for.

This week, I'm grateful for:
  • All that black on the red carpet. I watched the Golden Globes last night and was inspired by the activism in the form of a whole lot of black gowns and suits. Grateful the silence has been broken and the tide is turning. (Anyone else thinking #Oprah2020?)
  • A happy reunion. One of my bestie's got his sons back this weekend after a custody win this fall. He is a wonderful father and it made my heart sing to see the life return to his eyes in the form of his two young boys. <3
  • (Another) family birthday bash. The middle of my brothers had a birthday last week and we had his party this weekend. We always have such a great time when we get together, especially when we are celebrating a special day.
  • Yoga with Adriene. I started doing the True series at the beginning of the month and it has been SO GOOD getting back into a regular yoga practice. I feel amazing and have lost eight pounds since Thanksgiving.
  • Snuggles with the kitten. With the sub-zero temperatures, my cat, Harley, has been in a cuddly mood. He always seems to know when I've had a tough day and need a little hug.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Aw, cat cuddles are the best! I wish I had a cat - my brother has one that I just ADORE! I thought the Golden Globes were amazing, and Oprah's speech was just woah! Loved it. So many movies I still need to see. I really want to see Call Me By Your Name - read the books yearsss ago and loved it but it's not out near me until next Friday I think? Totally going!

  3. Such great things to be grateful for. Custody battles can be so hard and get so ugly! Yay, for family celebrations though! And kitty snuggles :) Im grateful for kind and compassionate boys. My youngest had a friend spend the night at it was a eye opening experience. Mine are not like many others. Not a bad kid just raised differently. I am also grateful for an introvert husband. I didn't drag him out this weekend and we just stayed home and relaxed. It was amazing LOL

  8. As much as I loved the black on the red carpet and Oprah's speech, I really do not want her to run for president. I think she could be much more effective as an advocate!

  9. Awww what a beautiful list <3 yay for kitty snuggles and so glad to hear about your friend having a reunion with his children :) I know someone going through something similar and it’s so heartbreaking to see what divorce can do.

Oprah. I watched her speech this morning. Yas!!! Dear God, after all we’ve been through the past few years, doesn’t that idea just give you all the feels?!

Xoxo and hope you have a great week!

  16. So do I. Sometimes those award shows can seem like a bunch of celebrities patting themselves on the back. I love that they are aiming for something bigger.

I loved that the Golden Globes had more of a purpose this year. It wasn't all political. And the black dresses were stunning!
