Simple Gratitude | 109

I'm sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog. What are you grateful for today? #gratitude #feelingthankful

"The ones who say 'you can't' and 'you won't' are probably the ones who are scared that you will." - Ziad K. Abdelnour

It's been a week of reaching and exceeding limits for me. I wanted to work on pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone because I had an awfully long list of reasons why I shouldn't or couldn't. There have been a lot of people in my life who told me I couldn't do big things, but I think that perhaps my biggest naysayer was myself. I've been holding myself back for too long and this year, one of my goals is to break out of those old habits and draw some new lines in the sand. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do great things, especially the person in the mirror, because I'm here to tell you that you can.

This week, I'm grateful for:
  • Trello. This is THE BEST project management app I've ever used. I heard about it through Lauren Fairweather and downloaded it immediately. Since then, it has made my workflow so much easier to track and it's helped me get rid of the little lists of ideas and things to do that I had been accumulating. I use the desktop and iPhone versions and they synch and make my life simple. If you need help organizing your life (family, work, blog, reading, etc.,) get Trello
  • Adriene. She's been making an appearance in my gratitude lists a lot lately, but seriously yo... I've been doing her TRUE 30-day yoga series this month and in one week, she has had me pushing myself further than I thought I could go, overcoming some pretty ridiculous chronic pain, and letting go of some emotional stuff I've been hanging on to and literally sobbing in the middle of practice. She has such a way of gently instructing but letting you do what feels good to you and it's amazing.
  • Windows open in January? Yes, please. This weekend, it was not frigid and I cracked the windows for a little while. Give me all the fresh air!
  • A restful sleep. Normally, when I sleep, it's restless and I wake up feeling exhausted, but yesterday, I had a mid-afternoon nap and slept so soundly and I woke up refreshed and motivated. I wish I could figure out how to make this happen all the time.
  • The season finale of Shameless. I'm such an addict, but it's a great show. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen the last episode yet, but I'll say that I'm happy to see Lip turning a corner. :)

What are you grateful for today?

  1. While the slightly warmer weather feels so strange for late January and what should be the "dead of winter" around here, the boy and I took his dog for a long walk last weekend and it really was just what we all needed.

Ah! I need to check out Trello for sure -- I'm sure it's a great help! And I definitely need to get some restful sleep. I've had a sick pup, and haven't slept much -- I can really tell!

  4. Trello has been a lifesaver for me! I'm so sorry to hear you have a sick pup. It's so hard when pets get sick. I worry about mine all the time.

  5. Thanks so much for introducing me to Trello! Actually I'm in the market for a new Project Management tool. I've been using Asana, but I'm just really not a fan... I'm trying to convince my coworkers to switch to Basecamp, but not sure anyone else but me is on board :p

and THANKS for the reminder to check in with Adrienne. I loooove her practices so much <3 Hope you have a great week, Lecy :)

  7. I think all the Gallaghers are in transitional years, some good and some not so good. I can't wait to hear what you think of the rest of the season when you catch up!

  8. I'm so curious about Trello- I'll have to check it out. I've watched random episodes of Shameless but never a season all the way through, and I do want too! I love all those characters. Glad you enjoyed the finale.

  11. Trello would work really well for groups and it's so easy to use. I've seen Basecamp but I've never used it before. Hope you have a great week, sweet friend! <3
