Simple Gratitude | 125

I'm sharing my #gratefulheart on the blog. What are you grateful for today? #gratitude #feelingthankful
Good morning, all! It appears, from the local forecast, that the sun could peek out today - something it hasn't done for nearly a month, and boy, have I missed it. I really hope it does because I need to get outside and re-pot my kalanchoe and two herb plants I got over the weekend. Cross your fingers for me and have an awesome Monday!

This week, I'm grateful for:
  • A solution to my medication issue. I finally found a local pharmacy that can special order the medicine I need and have been without for the last two months. I had been getting my prescriptions from the pharmacy in my grocery store, but they were reliant on the drugs their wholesaler sent them, usually the cheapest brands. Unfortunately, my body was rejecting one of those cheap drugs. After calling around, I spoke with a pharmacist at Walgreens (love them!) who offered to special order the medications I need and put notes in my records there so I shouldn't have to worry about this again. Bless!
  • Feeling alive. I've felt like crap for the last several months. Part of it was my body rejecting one of my meds, but it was also not being on the correct dose of another medication I take. I got them leveled out last week and I can already feel a difference. I will never take good health for granted again.
  • Farmer's market fruit. Y'all know I'm always craving fruit and veggies, so I stopped by the local market this weekend and picked up some fresh produce. I got strawberries, grapes, pears, peaches, cauliflower, bananas, and local apples that smell amazing. I also picked up a basil and a spearmint plant - they were $2.99 each and I couldn't pass up that deal. I'm going to transplant those babies ASAP and I can't wait to make some homemade pesto with that fresh basil. Yum.
  • Yoga with Adriene. I started the TRUE 30-day yoga series again. I figured, since I'm beginning to feel better, I'd let Adriene kick my butt into shape so the swimsuit isn't hideous when the rain finally stops and the pool is usable.
  • Dove invisible dry spray deodorant. Speaking of summer, does anyone else have an issue finding a deodorant that they love? I've struggled for a long time until I decided to try something new. Dove makes this Invisible Dry Spray that is a life-saver. It really does spray on dry. No sticky or wet-feeling armpits like some of the normal stick versions and it's guaranteed to not leave white marks on over 100 fabric colors. They also make a regular stick version of this line, so I'll try that next and report back. (P.S. I'm not paid to tell you about this. Just passing along info on a good product.)

What are you grateful for today?

I haven't done yoga in so long! Cheers to you and getting back into it! I've been doing a lot of cardio, running and weight lifting lately. 4. I have never tried a spray deodorant but I've been curious. I may check this out! And fresh fruits and veggies are the absolute best at this time of year! I am also so glad you got your medications figured out and that you are feeling better again.

  5. I haven't tried the Dove invisible dry spray deodorant, but I have heard great things about dry spray deodorant. My husband tried the Dove Men+ Care spray and he loves it. I'm so glad to hear that you found a pharmacy that can special order your medicine. I love going to the Farmers Market. I'm hoping to go this weekend.

  8. So glad you got your medication figured out. That is rough when you don't have the one you need. I really need to get to my farmers market this year. I love it but never go anymore. I just got a spearmint plant! I love it for putting in summer drinks! Happy Monday!

  10. I have used the same deodorant since forever. Secret PH balance. I tried a different one once and it was a total fail. I have been wanting to try a different brand. I will have to give dove a try! I have a mint plant that I haven't killed yet. I should grow some cilantro, because we order that every week. I wish I could have a whole garden but my non green thumbs just wont allow it LOL . Have a great week Lecy!

I haven't tried the spray but I have the stick version and I really like it! I'm so glad you got your medications worked out - that's always so frustrating. It's great that you are finally taking what you need and are feeling better! I hope you got your much-needed sun today.

  16. Secret PH balance is a great one. That is the one I've been using for quite a while, but (I don't know if it's because of my hormonal imbalances) all of a sudden, it stopped working so well for me. Growing your own cilantro would be a great idea. It's nice to have your own herbs to use in the kitchen!

  17. Thanks, Mistle! I am starting to feel better and it's been a long time coming. What kind of cardio do you do? I'm always looking for some new things to try. I like to switch it up!

  18. I tried one of those spray deodorants back when I was in high school and it did not work, so I was really hesitant to pick this one up. Obviously, they've made a lot of advancements in the formulas since then. :) Thanks for coming by to read, Beth!

  21. Thanks, Trish. I'm feeling much better (and less stressed) now that the medication issue is sorted out. Fresh spearmint smells so good! I love pinching a few leaves and putting them in my tea. :)

  24. Don't you just love Yoga by Adriene! I need to get back into my yoga routine. After I got hurt I had to quit. Not my favorite thing, ever.
And I am so happy to hear that your meds have leveled out. Isn't it funny how our bodies can react to cheaper versions of the "same" med. I had a med that they switched to the generic version w/o my permission. Oh man. Not good. So I am very happy for you!!

  25. I would go nuts if I had to stop my yoga. I wasn't able to do it a few days last month because I was under the weather and my mood took a nosedive. And you're right, it is funny how our bodies react to the same meds. I pulled up the full ingredient lists on both the old and new pills and there were tons of fillers in the new one, hence the adverse reaction. Hope you are having a great week, Brittany!
