Monthly Reflections | January

Wrapping up the month and sharing what I've been up to in life and on the blog. What is your favorite moment of January? #currently

January felt like a blur. Usually, I am pumped for the new year and have plans to rock the month, then break down by the end of it, having worn myself out with unnecessary tasks. Life has looked a little different this time. Much slower. I've been working on being patient, and still, and finding my breath, listening to my heart. Although I didn't get much writing done, my heart has been at peace, and that's exactly where I want to be.

Creative Projects | 2019

The creative projects I'm tackling in 2019! #creativity
"We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing our wings on the way down." - Kurt Vonnegut

Creativity has always been a huge part of my life. When I am unable to find the words to express myself, I turn to a palette of paint, my camera, music, choreography, a sketchbook, or a stoneware bowl and a wooden spoon. My creative aspirations have been there for me when I've been grieving or have felt lonely, and they've been what I use to communicate some of the happiest times in my life. Being creative grounds me. It gives me purpose. It makes me feel like I am contributing something good to a world that is often filled with pain. It allows me to grow.

What I Read | December

A look back at what I read last month. #ASGbookshelf #whatIread
New year, new bookshelf! Actually, I'm still working through a few last selections from my 2018 list, which were on hold at my library and became available on New Year's Eve. Typical...

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 31

Join me for a conversation over coffee? #coffeedates

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at your favorite spot, someplace I've never been. I'd order whatever you recommended and we'd find a cozy spot to sit down for our chat. The weather has turned frigid here, so I'd keep my wool scarf wrapped around my neck and I'd warm my hands on the steamy mug that sits in front of me. It is officially winter.

Reading Challenges for 2019 | The List

Check out my master list of all the books I'll be reading in 2019! #books #reading #asgbookshelf
This is the post I wait all year long to write. Once it's live, I go back and visit it several times a month to update. Reading is such a big part of my life and this is my roadmap for 2019. This year, I'll be participating in six reading challenges, as well as reviewing books for publishers, working on book launches, and reading the extra books I pick up throughout the year.

One Little Word | 2019

Today I'm sharing the word I've chosen to be my beacon for the coming year. #onelittleword

"Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding." - Albert Einstein

What if I told you I did this one little word thing all wrong in 2018? I chose the word "hustle" and for the first half of the year, I felt like I was running in circles, trying to keep all these plates up in the air. I ignored my natural rhythm, denied myself balance and forced productivity like I was on a factory line.
