Monthly Reflections | April

Wrapping up the month and sharing what I've been up to in life and on the blog. What is your favorite moment of April? #currently

Another month down and at least one more to go. Quarantine hasn't been so bad this month. I've gotten over the initial overwhelm and have settled into new routines. I still have anxious days, but I've found ways to combat them by keeping busy. I completed a lot of little tasks in April, like cleaning out my phone and freeing up some storage, dusting and purging all the items I had stored under my bed, (how does that stuff get so dusty??) and trying to learn something new every day, even if it's just a small something.

If You and I Had Coffee | vol 46

Join me for a conversation over coffee? #coffeedates

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up for yet another virtual date since the end of this quarantine is not yet in view. When we connect, I'd be sitting outside on the deck with my laptop and a smoothie because the weather is clear and warm after a tumultuous week. The sky is blue and there are baby birds chirping from their nests high in the trees, making it feel like the perfect environment for a coffee date with you.

Five Things | What's Saving My Life Right Now (Social-Distancing Edition)

Five things that are saving my life right now and helping me through the quarantine. #fivethings #socialdistancing

Quarantine. That's a scary word. Isolation from others is no fun and it's downright frightening at times. Aside from the virus and all of the fear that brings, being away from your people for an extended period of time can make you feel awful, and being told that you can't go out and live your life like you used to can be panic-inducing. We are all being selfless for the good of our communities, but sometimes, we need to be a little selfish and take care of us. And that's okay.

What I Read | March

A look back at what I read last month. #ASGbookshelf #whatIread

I thought being shut in for social distancing would allow me more of an opportunity to crack into the books that I've had sitting on my shelf, but I didn't end up reading any more than I do in any normal month. There were many days that my mind and emotions just weren't in a place where I felt productive at all, and reading took a backseat to binge-watching Sex and the City on those days. I did get a few books knocked off my list though. Have you been doing any reading while you've been quarantined?

Vegan Cauliflower Chowder

A comforting soup recipe for any time of the year #asgeats #food

The other day, I had someone ask me why I didn't just run a food blog. This was a fair question because most of my Facebook posts are photos of dishes that I've cooked. I love cooking, but what I love even more is sharing what I've cooked with my people.
